. . . CONGRATULATION CHRISTIAN (1ST) AND LOGAN (3RD) FOR A GREAT SEASON. . .

LLR TEAMMATES FINISH FIRST AND THIRD IN THE GA/FL MAXXIS SERIES

April 28, 2012 - Callahan, FL - High fives and celebration were in order as the Logan Lane Racing team wrapped up a successful series with a first and third place series. Christian Lee went into the final race of the series a lock to win the championship after securing the points lead in Jasper a few weeks prior. Lee's teammate, Logan Lane entered the track knowing he had some tough competition coming after him for the second place spot with only 20 points separating second through fourth place. Lane's day began rough when he spun out on his first lap of qualifying after entering turn one too high. He got back on track and was able to pull out a fifth place starting position in the eleven kart field. During the team meeting between qualifying and the race, team owner Logan Lane Sr. explained the importance of being consistent on the track to his young drivers. Lane Sr. explained to his son that it is important to secure a position in front of the close competitors to ensure a second place finish in the point's standings.

Once the green flag fell, the field ignited with karts jockeying for position into turn one. Lee held his third place starting position through the turn as Lane got shoved to the outside line pushing him up and off of the track in turn one. Lane would end up a half a lap down on the first lap but show his determination to try and get back with the pack. The race stayed green for about eight laps then the caution flag came out. This was the break Lane needed. Lane restarted the race in the ninth position and began moving through the field. By the time the white flag flew, Lane had secured his spot in the fourth position with his teammate in second. It looked like the LLR team was going to secure the top two spots in the point's series.

As the pack of karts entered turn one, the drivers pushed their karts nose to tail, looking to make some last minute position advancement. Lane would become a casualty as the result of the hard racing as he spun off of turn two dropping him to the back of the field creating a seventh place finish. This finish landed him in a position where he and Hunter Reynolds were tied in points for second place in the series standings. The rules for a tie breaker went to the most wins and Reynolds had one more win on the season than Lane placing Lane in the third position for the series.

All in all the LLR team walked away with great confidence after a successful series. There were a total of 25 competitors in the series with the LLR drivers bring home the Championship and a third place. This dynamic duo will prepare for the summer series and look defend the Championship title. Great job to the hard work of John May and Collin Lee that called the shots during the series to bring home the Championship.
